Synth Riders' impeccable slate of DLC just doesn't seem to have an end in sight, does it? Well, here we are once again, as the team at Kluge Interactive has cooked up something really special for this latest DLC: 80s Mixtape - Side A.
Hot off the heels of the marvellous Electro Swing Essentials 2 pack, Synth Riders is tapping into a decade that has greatly inspired the title. The core soundtrack for the game features an immense amount of synthwave, but nothing from the decade that inspired it proper. And Kluge did not pull any punches when it came time to pick the tracks.
This 80s Mixtape pack is filled to the brim with heavy hitters. While it's sadly one of the smaller, five-song packs, each and every tune is worth your attention. You can buy them individually for $1.99, or you can get them as a bundle for $7.99 on 23rd April. Much like with the previous pack, it will only be available for PSVR2.
The 80s Mixtape - Side A tracks are as follows:
- Take On Me - a-ha
- Whip It - DEVO
- We Built This City - Starship
- Sussudio - Phil Collins
- New Sensation - INXS
Additionally, the pack will be adding a new stage titled 'Endless Café', which is free to all players.
It's an incredible bundle of songs, adding an impressive lineup of tunes to a game already bursting at the seams with great music. And of course, "Side A" suggests there might be a Side B soon to come. What do you think? Will you be picking up any or all of the five tracks? Or are you going to hit snooze on the alerts until the next pack? Any songs you'd want to see on "Side B" ? Sound off in the comments section below.

This is probably my most played game on the VR2 - its only problem is that when playing random songs there's a non-zero chance of getting Electro Swing!
I might get this pack to make that chance slimmer!
Good news, I will be honest I have this game but have yet to try it due to the life sap (in a good way) that is Hell Divers 2, I need to get on it!
@Voltan is this as good as beat sabre?
Take On Me is a yes, hard no to the rest.
@Mostik I think they're a similar level of fun. It might be a tad easier but will make you move more (makes you reach for the notes rather than work with your wrists) - so I'd say it's a better workout than Beat Saber.
Shame these packs arent for the PSVR 1 version did have a lot of fun with the PSVR 1 version.
My 80s Mixtape...
Take On Me - a-ha
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears
Beat It - Michael Jackson
Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
Don’t Get Me Wrong - Pretenders
... as a 80s music fan I don't like this DLC, Don't Change is much better INXS song than New Sensation.
The zero love for DEVO in this comment section is truly worrying 😅
I'm quite looking forward to this. Synth riders is my main form of cardio. And one of the few games my wife genuinely loves. You can't go wrong dancing to that set list!
@NieR_Dark Agreed mate it's criminal, by far the best tune on this list!!!!
Oh yeah this pack is mine those are some great songs
Looks good but only 5x songs? Being 80s I am sure there could have been a LOT more.
